Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed Decree No. 1754-r on December 1 on the design and construction of the second line of the Baltic Pipeline System from Unecha, Bryansk region, to Ust-Luga, Leningrad region, according with the official press release published on the Russian government website. The Movement for Liberty and the Office for Democratic Belarus (Brussels) today sent letters to all the governments of the countries - signatories to the Schengen Agreement with a call to re-examine its policies with regard to fees and procedures of issuing Schengen visas for Belarusian citizens.

A Ukrainian Orthodox calendar for 2009 was confiscated by customs officials in Belarus. Two copies of the edition published in Kiev were transported by Father Anton Prokopchuk, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Patriarch of Moscow.
